Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all four countries and the time periods provided. You successfully identify the main trends, such as the overall increase in urban population. However, the task achievement is limited by a misunderstanding of the data. The prompt asks for the percentage of the population living in cities, but you frequently refer to 'rural side' or 'rural life' in your introduction, which contradicts the graph. Additionally, some descriptions of the data are slightly inaccurate, such as stating Thailand's trend became 'stable' when the graph shows a more complex pattern. To improve, ensure you carefully interpret the labels on the axes and provide a more precise summary of the data points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs for the data. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the flow is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. For example, the transition between the overview and the body paragraphs could be smoother. The paragraphing is sufficient, but the internal structure of the body paragraphs could be improved by grouping the countries more logically (e.g., those with similar trends) rather than listing them one by one, which makes the progression feel a bit repetitive.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'uplifting', 'escalating', 'fluctuation', and 'drastically'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors that hinder precision. Phrases like 'preference of living in rural side', 'proportion of masses', and 'it will kiss around 80%' are unnatural or incorrect in an academic context. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of control over more sophisticated vocabulary and the misuse of certain terms prevent a higher score. Focus on learning standard collocations for describing graphs, such as 'upward trend' or 'significant growth'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is a positive step. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('Philippines community faced fluctuation', 'Thailand people wanted'), article usage, and tense consistency ('it supposed to reached'). Some sentences are also poorly constructed, such as 'which were gradually uplifting until 2020 and touched almost 50%'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To reach a higher band, you need to improve your control over basic grammar and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
