Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response attempts to summarize the graph, but it fails to clearly identify and report the main features. The overview is confusing and lacks clarity, particularly in the phrasing 'the Malaysia of the people'. While the response mentions all four countries, the data points provided are often inaccurate or poorly expressed, such as the claim that Malaysia will be at 80% in 2040 without clear reference to the trend. The information is presented in a fragmented way, making it difficult for the reader to grasp the overall trends. To improve, you must focus on identifying the most significant changes and comparing the countries' growth trajectories more accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'On the contrast' and 'On the other side', which do not effectively link the sentences. Referencing is also unclear; for example, it is often difficult to determine which country the writer is referring to due to awkward phrasing like 'the Thailand of the percentage'. The lack of logical flow between sentences makes the report difficult to follow, and the conclusion does not effectively summarize the main findings of the data.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and often used incorrectly, which impedes communication. Phrases such as 'the Malaysia of the people' and 'no constantly extend' are non-standard and confusing. There is a lack of precise terminology for describing trends (e.g., 'rising', 'fluctuating', 'projected'). While the student attempts to use some academic vocabulary, the word choice is frequently inaccurate, leading to a lack of clarity. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations related to data description, such as 'a steady increase' or 'a significant rise'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often obscure the intended meaning. There are significant issues with sentence structure, subject-verb agreement, and article usage (e.g., 'the Indonesia's population', 'the Thailand of the percentage'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. Complex structures are attempted but are consistently faulty, such as 'in which there are two Asian countries will be rise'. These errors are frequent and cause difficulty for the reader, indicating a need for a stronger grasp of basic English syntax and sentence construction.
