Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all four countries and the time frame provided. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identify the main trends, the description of the data is occasionally inaccurate or lacks precision. For example, stating that the count of individuals in Malaysia increased 'drastically' is a good use of descriptive language, but the claim that Thailand's population remained 'stable' from 1990 to 2020 is not fully supported by the graph, which shows a slight upward trend. Furthermore, the overview is quite brief and could be more effectively integrated to highlight the most significant trends rather than just stating the end points for 2040.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, body paragraphs for the countries, and a concluding overview. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally awkward. For instance, the use of 'Firstly.' as a sentence fragment is incorrect. Transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt, and the referencing (e.g., 'the number of people') is repetitive. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated linking words makes the flow feel somewhat disjointed. Improving the variety of cohesive devices would help the essay move more smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'number of people' and 'count of individuals' throughout the text. There are also some errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'urben centre' (spelling error: urban centers) and 'reached at nearly 76 percent' (the preposition 'at' is unnecessary). To improve, try to incorporate more varied terminology related to trends, such as 'proportion,' 'percentage,' 'climb,' 'plateau,' or 'projected,' and ensure accurate spelling and preposition usage.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'The line graph depicts the information about the number of populations' (should be 'the percentage of the population'), 'in Philippines' (missing the article 'the'), and 'in 2040, the number of people will be around 55 percent' (tense usage is acceptable, but the phrasing is repetitive). Punctuation errors, such as the period after 'Firstly' and 'Overall', also affect the accuracy. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve your score.
