IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The graph below gives information about the percentage of the population in four Asian countries living in cities from 1970 to 2020, with predictions for 2030 and 2040. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

 

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The given line chart provides information about percentage of the citizens in cities in four different Asia countries in the period from 1970 to 2020, with prediction for 2030 and 2040.

The every country in the graph facing the growth or Negligily decline in every year. The Malaysia has been faced the most signifactly grow in comparison with the other 3 countries. Moreover, Indonesia which contained the lowest number of citizens in the beginning, sharply grown by the end of period.

The Philippines at the beginning contained over 31% of local people, and did not changed until 1990, then the model rose dramatically to over 50% of total poplutaion which is more than previous result to about 19%. But, after this, the model being gradually drop to an over 40% of citizens in 2010. Moreover, the predictions says that in the future Philippines will be back to 50% of total population.

Furthermore, Malaysia which being second in 1970 with over 30% of population has been faced significatly increase over the years, and got the dominance with over 77% of total population in 2020.

Also, Thailand had over 18% of citizens in 1970, gradually grown and increased to about 27% amount of people in 1990. But after this period, model rose steadily, and after 2020 sharply grown to over 40% of total population on 2040. Indonesia also shown very good result, at the beginning it has the lowest number of citizens, but over the years of growth, in 2010 it became the second highest country with percentage of total population, placing The Philippes to third place, and after the end of period it contains over 54% of total population.
