Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all four countries and the time frame provided. You have successfully identified the main trends and made relevant comparisons, such as noting Malaysia's projected peak and the overall upward trajectory of the countries. However, the report lacks a clear 'overview' paragraph that synthesizes the main trends; instead, you have placed a brief summary at the end. To improve, ensure the overview highlights the most significant trends (e.g., the general increase in urbanization across all nations) immediately after the introduction. Some data points, such as the Philippines' trend, are described with slight inaccuracies regarding the specific years and figures, which impacts the precision of your reporting.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with each country or group of countries receiving its own section. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Moving further', and 'Looking from overall perspective' to guide the reader. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the transition between sentences can be abrupt. For instance, the jump between data points in the Indonesia paragraph feels like a list of facts rather than a cohesive narrative. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that sentences connect more fluidly would help elevate the score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'augmented', 'modestly', and 'downward trends'. However, there are several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'it is forecaster that' instead of 'it is forecast that', 'growth marginally go up', and 'it is subjected that'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that the word forms (e.g., nouns vs. verbs) are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Thailand start with', 'recovery start'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'it was 32% in starting'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'it would be elevate'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, pay closer attention to verb forms and tense consistency, particularly when describing future predictions versus past data.
