The graph below gives information about the percentage of the population in four Asian countries living in cities from 1970 to 2020, with predictions for 2030 and 2040. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The given graph illustrates the data about peoples population living in cities of four different asian countries Philippines, Malaysis, Thiland and Indoneasia in between 1970 and 2020. The graph also gives idea about the how the civilization will looks like in 2030 and 2040 in same area.
It is found that less than 35% of totall population used to live in cities in all countries by year 1970, from which Indoneasis accounts for only about 15%. Peoples interest in living in cities increased rapidly in malaysis reaching nearly 80% from 30% from 1970 to 2026 which seems to be increased upto nearly 95% by 2040.
Indoneasis shows gradual increase in population living in cities which is predicted to reach around 60% by 2040. Philippines and Thiland shows flactuating data with sudden increasement and decreasement in different time frame but still shows slight increasement in percentage of population living in city area.
