IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The graph below gives information about the percentage of the population in four Asian countries living in cities from 1970 to 2020, with predictions for 2030 and 2040. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The given line graph tracks the information about the percentage of the urbanization in four different Asian cities and time period was 1970 to 2020. In addition to, they also give predictions after 2 decades of 2020.
To begin with, the Philipines and the Malaysia cities population was 31 and 30% respectively and both were increased over the period of time. In addition to, the Philippines cities population was dramtically decreased in 1990. However, the Malaysia cities population was jumped up after 1990, but after two decades it reached around 72%. While, the Phillippines cities reported continous downfall untill 2010. Additionally, it will be predicated that the Malaysia cities cross the 80% in 2040 and the Phillipines cities population will be increased almost 50% in final year.
Furthermore, the Thailand and the Indonasia cities population was almost near in 1970. Afterwards, it rose significantly and both cities population was same in 2000, which was around 20%. After following years, the Indonasia cities population was rapidly increased. Nevertheless, the Thailand cities population was gradually increased. Lastly, it will be predicated that the Indonasia cities reached almost 60% and the Thailand cities touched to 50% in 2040.
Overall, it is clearly seen that the Philippines cities reported frist position in initial year, but after two decades the Malaysia cities population overtake the Philippines cities population. Meanwhile, the Thailand cities obsereved greater population in initial year. In contrast the Indonesia cities were rapidly increased after few years.
