Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the task by describing the trends for the four countries, mentioning figures such as 1970 and 2020. However, the response contains several inaccuracies and misinterpretations of the data (e.g., claiming that 'only a few indonesian were live' or stating that about half of the Philippines residents shifted in metropolitan from 1970 to 1990, when the actual figure was around 48% rising from 32%). Furthermore, the formatting contains typographical errors in the years ('20220'). While an overview is attempted, the lack of precision and misunderstanding of certain data points limit the development of the main features, placing this response at Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The text is divided into paragraphs, which helps establish a basic structure for different countries and periods. However, the overall progression is disjointed due to abrupt shifts between ideas and sentences. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or incorrectly (e.g., 'However, there is dramtic increase', 'Futhermore'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, and paragraphing is underdeveloped, with some paragraphs grouping disparate points together without smooth transitions. This reflects the characteristics of Band 5.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, with frequent spelling mistakes throughout the text (e.g., 'illustrate' instead of 'illustrates', 'portion' instead of 'proportion', 'asian', 'form', '20220', 'predict', 'moves', 'dramtic', 'marjority', 'shift', 'havinfg', 'predicition', 'Futhermore', 'quater', 'majoirity', 'malayias', 'popultion'). There are very few attempts at less common vocabulary, and those attempted are inaccurate in form or collocation. This falls into Band 4.0 due to the high density of basic lexical and spelling errors that strain the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentences, but grammatical accuracy is very low. There are persistent errors in tense usage, subject-verb agreement, and word forms (e.g., 'indonesian were live', 'people who will moves', 'residents... were shift', 'malaysian was lived', 'popultion were lived'). Sentence structures are frequently faulty when attempting complexity, causing difficulty for the reader and impeding communication in several places. This corresponds to a Band 4.0 level.
