Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The response is significantly under the minimum length requirement of 150 words, containing only 119 words. Furthermore, the content fails to fully address the task. The overview contains factual inaccuracies, stating incorrectly that Indonesia experienced the opposite pattern and confusing the countries with the highest and lowest proportions. In the body paragraphs, the data is heavily garbled, incomplete, and cut off mid-sentence, such as 'reaching population of % pridection in 2040'. Because the reporting of main features and comparisons is severely flawed and incomplete, the response meets the criteria for a lower band.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is an attempt to organise the response with an introductory sentence, an overview paragraph, and initial body paragraphs. However, the logical progression breaks down due to the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used in a basic manner, such as 'Looking first at Malaysia' and 'Turning to', but referencing and transitions are frequently faulty or mechanical. Paragraphing is attempted, but the abrupt ending prevents a fully coherent structure from being established throughout the entire piece.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is of a limited range and includes noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'asian' (uncapitalized), 'experinced', 'pettern', 'noticable', 'thourghout', 'pridection', and 'fluchuated'. While some appropriate terms for data reporting like 'proportion' and 'upward trend' are attempted, inaccuracies in word form and spelling cause some difficulty for the reader, and the vocabulary is insufficient to properly discuss the graphical data.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'The line graph illustrates the information about the proportion...'. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and sentence structure, particularly visible in mangled fragments like 'It then increased pridection further, reaching 80% of population in 2040' and the broken conclusion. Punctuation and article usage are also inconsistent throughout the text, though basic meaning can occasionally be discerned despite the frequent errors.
