Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, stopping abruptly at only 60 words. Consequently, the task is addressed only minimally. While the introduction attempts to paraphrase the prompt and the overview correctly identifies overall upward trends and Malaysia's leading position, the body paragraphs are entirely missing. Because the response is severely underdeveloped and omits the vast majority of the data from the graph, it cannot be considered a fully realized task response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organization present, marked by a clear attempt at an introduction and an overall summary paragraph. However, because the text is so brief and lacks body paragraphs, there is no clear overall progression or detailed structuring of information. Transitional phrases are minimal, and the lack of a complete text prevents any sustained logical flow or proper use of cohesive devices beyond basic paragraphing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, featuring attempts at topic-related terms such as 'proportion', 'urban areas', and 'urbanised'. However, there are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, including 'philippines' (uncapitalized), 'indonisia' (misspelled), and 'experinced' (misspelled). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they reflect limited lexical control and prevent the response from achieving a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writing displays a very limited range of structures, with the opening sentence overly convoluted and containing severe syntactic errors, such as 'between living in cities' and 'with pojections for 2030 to 2040'. There are frequent errors in capitalization, punctuation, and prepositions within grammatical patterns. While simple sentence structures are occasionally handled, attempts at more complex phrasing lead to awkward and ungrammatical constructions that cause some difficulty for the reader.
