Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify several relevant overall patterns: Malaysia rises strongly, Indonesia grows rapidly, and the Philippines fluctuates, while all four countries are expected to increase. These points address the main subject of the graph. However, some figures and comparisons are inaccurate or too vague. Indonesia starts at about 14%, not around 5%, and reaches about 52% in 2020, rather than around 45%; its 2040 projection is about 64%, not 60%. The Philippines also rises to around 48% in 1990 before declining, a key feature that could be stated more clearly. Your overview that Malaysia has the strongest rise is sound, but “the most normal rise” in the Philippines is unclear. Include more precise comparisons and develop the trends across the full period.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs describing selected countries, and a concluding overview. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “Overall” help signal shifts between points. The organisation is generally understandable, but the progression is not always clear: Malaysia and Indonesia are grouped together, while the Philippines and Thailand are discussed in a way that makes their comparisons difficult to follow. The conclusion also repeats the general idea that every country will rise without adding a useful comparison. Some transitions feel mechanical, and punctuation spacing makes the text harder to read. Grouping countries by contrasting trends and using clearer references to dates and figures would make the progression more cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for describing data, including “rose significantly,” “fluctuation,” “gradual,” and “forecast.” This gives you a basic range for reporting trends. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “the most normal rise,” “hope to increase,” and “the percentage of the people.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, including “beging,” “sligthly,” and “percentafe,” which reduce precision. Aim for standard graph-description phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, describe a trend as “increased steadily” or “showed the smallest rise,” rather than using an unclear expression such as “most normal rise.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, and the main message is usually understandable. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout. For example, “The given graph show” needs subject–verb agreement, while “it might will be increased” combines incompatible modal and verb forms. “There is rise in percentage of the each country” also has problems with the article and noun phrase. Some sentences run together without appropriate spacing after full stops, as in the transition from the Malaysia sentence to the next point. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions for historical data and use “is expected to” for forecasts. Greater control of these basic patterns would make your meaning clearer.
