Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the overall subject and report several relevant patterns, including Indonesia’s rise, the Philippines’ rise to 1990 followed by a fall and recovery, and Malaysia’s strong growth. However, the overview is not sufficiently clear or accurate: Malaysia, not the Philippines, has the highest share in 2040, at about 84%, while Indonesia is second, at roughly 64%. The claim that the Philippines had the highest figure in 1970 is also incorrect; it was slightly above Malaysia, so this comparison is valid, but it needs clearer wording. Some key comparisons are missing, particularly Malaysia’s position as the highest from 2000 onward and Indonesia overtaking the Philippines by 2020. More precise selection and reporting of the main features would make the summary more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response is divided into paragraphs and generally moves from the lower starting figures to the Philippines and Malaysia, with an overall statement at the end. This gives it some organisation. However, the progression is difficult to follow because trends and comparisons are mixed together, and the final paragraph repeats points already made rather than synthesising them. Linking expressions such as “Moving further,” “At last,” and “On the other hand” are sometimes used mechanically or do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. References such as “it” are also unclear in places, especially when several countries are discussed in the same paragraph. Grouping the information by overall trend or by country, and using clearer comparisons, would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of vocabulary related to change, including “surge,” “fluctuating trend,” “decline,” and “increasing trend.” However, word choice and spelling errors are frequent and sometimes make the meaning difficult to interpret. Phrases such as “surge tread,” “sholy country,” “maximum number of masses,” and “highest recoreded population” are inaccurate or unsuitable for describing percentages. Several expressions are also repetitive, particularly “at last” and “trend.” Use standard, precise language for graph descriptions and check spelling carefully. For example, “the proportion of the population living in cities” is more accurate than “the population” when reporting percentages.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

There are attempts to use longer sentences and time clauses, but complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence construction. For example, “where till1990 it rose to nearby 50 percentage than a decline tred goes till 2010” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “At last in 2040 as in future reaches approximately 45” has no clear subject. Articles, agreement, tense, and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “indonesia has the least population” and the run-on opening sentence. These problems sometimes make the intended comparisons hard to follow. Build accuracy with shorter sentences first, then combine ideas using controlled clauses such as “After peaking in 1990, the figure fell before rising again.”
