Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: you suggest that people are intrigued by a building’s design and cultural features, and you mention researching online or asking neighbours and relatives. However, the reasons are repeated rather than fully explained, and the research methods receive little detail. The example about families leaving homes during Partition could support the point about asking parents, but its connection to discovering a particular building’s history is not made clear. The response therefore covers the task only partially, with ideas that remain limited and under-developed. It is also 15 words below the required minimum, which leaves less space to explain and support your points. Develop each reason and method with a clear explanation or relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: the opening introduces the topic, the middle paragraphs discuss possible reasons and research methods, and the conclusion restates the main idea. However, the progression is not consistently clear. The first paragraph already lists research methods, then the later paragraph returns to reasons before discussing those methods again. Linking phrases such as “Due to these reasons” and “For instance” help signal relationships, but ideas are often joined mechanically or repeated. Some references are also unclear, as in “they think about the style of building and ask their parents about their maker,” where the connection between the children, the building, and its maker needs clarification. Group reasons and methods into distinct, logically developed paragraphs.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “architecture,” “colour-scheme,” “traditions,” and “structure,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make the writing less natural and sometimes harder to follow. Examples include “getting interesting to know,” “asking from neighbourhood,” “ureg ed” (intended as “urged”), and “architechure.” Repeated use of “houses and buildings” and “fascinate” also limits variety. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “interested in learning about a property’s history” and “ask local residents.” Check spelling carefully and choose vocabulary that expresses the specific idea rather than relying on repeated general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most sentences use simple structures, and you attempt some longer sentences with reasons and examples. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, articles, agreement, prepositions, and sentence boundaries. For example, “Many people captivated” needs a finite verb, while “They researched them on internet, and asking” mixes verb forms and needs an article before “internet.” The sentence beginning “For instance, at the time of separation” continues with several clauses that are not clearly punctuated, and “they come to know that who build them” has an incorrect question structure and verb form. These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled complex structures.
