Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by suggesting why residents are curious about the past and how they can investigate it. The references to elderly residents, museums and local guides are relevant, and the Kot Diji example gives the response a personal, specific focus. However, the reasons are not clearly separated or developed: the opening mainly says people want to know about the place where they live, while the conclusion adds curiosity about how it became a city or village without explaining this further. Much of the body describes local history and wildlife rather than showing how these sources reveal the history of a particular house or building. Explain the motivations more fully and connect each research method directly to the building in question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is an identifiable opening and conclusion, and the response moves from possible sources of information to a local example. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Additionally” and “Moreover” help signal new points. However, the central paragraph contains several different methods and then shifts into a long description of Mehrano Wildlife Sanctuary, so the progression from researching a home’s history becomes difficult to follow. Some links are also unclear, as in “This usually happens in a country which is known very ancient,” and the conclusion repeats the general idea of curiosity rather than drawing the points together. Use separate paragraphs for reasons and research methods, and keep examples focused on how a source helps establish a building’s past.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “museums,” “historical buildings,” “migratory birds” and “ancestors,” and the local names add specificity. The meaning is generally recoverable, but word choice, spelling and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive. Phrases such as “information history,” “old equipments,” “a lot of hints” and “the way of living” do not sound natural in this context; “history of the building,” “old equipment,” “clues” and “way of life” would be more idiomatic. There are also frequent spelling and form errors, including “arcitecture,” “tourguide” and “inclusing.” Build a more precise set of phrases for historical research, such as property records, archives and previous owners.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses beginning with “because,” “who” and “where,” but control is inconsistent. Several sentences are incomplete or joined awkwardly: “Because they want to know…” is a fragment, while “Firstly, i think it is a good sign… Because…” breaks the sentence unnecessarily. Errors in verb forms and agreement also occur in “how old people use live” and “he always carry,” and articles and plurals are often missing or misplaced. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, making some long sentences harder to read. Practise forming complete sentences, checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and dividing long chains of ideas into shorter, correctly punctuated sentences.
