Student answer (Band 5.0)
In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.
This become a thing in most counties because people are becoming too picky about choosing where to live as their goal is to make sure that they are in a safe environement and legal one. Also, they want to make sure that their home is not linked to bad history that can affect their reputation and their kids and might cause them problem. From my own experience, not knowing enough informations about the place I rented and moved id caused be to be treated bad by the neighbors and even being a victim of thiefs.
To find out about the house or building, people must contact owners and ask them some relative questions about the condition and the history of the house or building they live in. Another way, is to contact neighbors and try to talk to them about the neighborhood, ex-owner of the house ,asking as much question as possible is the best way to collect informations about the history of the house or building they live in . The easiest way, is to search online the name of the house or the bulding as many people may have left a review or told a story about this house or building that can be usefull .
Searching about the history of the place you are living in , will be more and interested fpr people as it give them a clear image about its history and make them feel safe.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: you suggest that people want to check safety and avoid a troubling past, and you mention asking owners or neighbours and searching online. However, the reasons and research methods are only briefly explained, so the response remains partially developed. The personal example about being treated badly by neighbours and experiencing theft could support the safety point, but the connection to researching a building’s history needs clearer explanation. The response also does not meet the 250-word minimum: 221 words were counted, excluding 45 words copied from the prompt. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example, and add a conclusion that directly summarises your answer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic, sensible order: it first discusses why people investigate a property, then gives ways to research it, and ends with a brief concluding thought. Paragraphing helps distinguish these parts, and phrases such as “Also” and “Another way” signal additions. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several ideas are joined in long, loosely controlled sentences. For example, the sentence beginning “From my own experience” combines renting, neighbours’ treatment and theft without clearly showing how these events relate. The repeated phrase “the house or building” also makes the writing feel repetitive. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and organise each paragraph around one main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “safe,” “reputation,” “condition,” “neighbors” and “review,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which occasionally makes meaning less clear. Examples include “picky about choosing,” “bad history,” “treated bad” and “victim of thiefs.” There are also spelling and word-form errors such as “environement,” “bulding,” “usefull” and “informations.” Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling and countability. For instance, describe a property’s “previous history” or “past events,” and use “information” as an uncountable noun.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including clauses with “because,” “as” and “that,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction. For example, “This become a thing” needs a correctly formed verb, while “it give them” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence about contacting neighbours also has an unclear structure, and punctuation around “Another way” and the list of questions is awkward. These recurring problems sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, then review agreement, tense and punctuation before submitting.
