Student answer (Band 6.5)
In many countries most of the people are getting interested about knowing the history of the house or building they reside in. This is mainly because of the curiosity and the urge to know about their ancestors. It can be done through by searching on internet or a conversation with older people.
More individuals are curious about everything, and this leads them to find the originlity of the objects or places they are used to commute. The architecture of the buildings and houses are alike today and people do not feel any belonging to these schemed structures, while the old buildings exterior and design attracts the sight of pupil. The old build castles or homes in different regions of world arise a quest in young adults to know about history behind this. For instance, houses in Edinurgh, Scotland are usually aesthetic as well as historic; like visualised in movies. This not only catches the sight but also develops a number of questions regarding the mystery of such work.
To find out the history there are many publications in library about kings or dynasties who build complex structures of homes they live in, but nowadays, internet is enough to discover any detail. Moreover, the older people who still have a good memory will share the past events and belonging of people to these places. For example, the stories grandparents tell their grandchildren contributes to the knowledge of their shifting and related to the house they are currently living.
In conclusion, the interest people develop about their inquisitiveness to know the history is increasing today, and it provides them the knowledge of ancestors while answering their questions as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the interest in building history and methods for research. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the explanation regarding why people feel a lack of belonging to modern architecture is a good point, but it is not fully explored. The examples provided, such as Edinburgh, are relevant but could be more effectively linked to the research methods. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that each reason is supported by a more detailed explanation or a more specific, personal example.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. There is a progression of ideas from the reasons for interest to the methods of research. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'the old build castles' or 'the stories grandparents tell their grandchildren contributes to the knowledge of their shifting'. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the transitions between sentences could be smoother to improve the overall flow. Referencing is generally clear, but some phrasing makes the logical connection between sentences slightly strained.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'inquisitiveness', 'aesthetic', and 'dynasties'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'originlity' (spelling), 'schemed structures', 'attracts the sight of pupil' (should be 'catches the eye of the public'), and 'knowledge of their shifting'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the expression. Expanding the range of collocations would help improve the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the internet', 'the history'), subject-verb agreement ('dynasties who build', 'stories... contributes'), and prepositional usage ('interested about', 'related to the house'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are slightly clunky. The errors are noticeable but rarely prevent the reader from understanding the intended message. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, which are the most frequent sources of error.
