Student answer (Band 6.5)
In some country, there is a growing trend for people to acknowledge and learn about the history of the house or building they live in. Understanding what are their incentives and figuring out what are their approaches have become a widely discussed topic recently.
As people tend to find their sense of belonging from where they live, it is not surprising that they have the motivation to learn about the house or building history. They reckon themselves as part of the community, who experience the process of the architectural development and people's lives together. In addition, learning about the history helps house owners or tenants better appreciate the facilities. For instance, people would use the swimming pool more frequently after being aware that the owner of the building intends to build a similar 'wallless' swimming facility that is popular in Singapore.
There are multiple ways for individuals to find resources for the history. Searching online is probably the fasted method, which also provides comprehensive information as it's a source of information collection. People can also communicate with their house owner or previous tenants to learn about the history of the place, as well as the development of districts and communities surrounded.
Overall, learning the history of where people stay is an approach for them to find themselves connected with both previous tenants and current resident individuals. People can either do research online for the historian details or talk with building of community staffs for niche anecdotes in regard of the house or building.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the interest in building history and methods for research. The ideas are relevant, such as the sense of belonging and the use of online resources. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the example regarding the 'wallless' swimming pool is a bit confusing and does not clearly illustrate why someone would research the history of their building. To improve, you should expand on your points with more logical, real-world examples that directly connect to the historical aspect of a property rather than just general building features.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In addition' and 'Overall', to guide the reader. However, the progression of ideas within paragraphs could be smoother. Some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where 'historian details' is an awkward phrasing. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally from the previous one will help elevate your score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'architectural development' and 'niche anecdotes'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and minor collocation errors, such as 'historian details' (should be 'historical details') and 'building of community staffs' (should be 'building or community staff'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band. Focus on learning words in context to ensure they are used naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'In some country' (should be 'countries'), 'what are their incentives' (indirect questions should be 'what their incentives are'), and 'fasted method' (should be 'fastest'). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement, article usage, and the correct word order in indirect questions. Increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences will also help improve your score.
