Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the interest in building history and methods for research. However, the ideas are somewhat underdeveloped. For instance, the reasons provided, such as 'evil power' or 'ghosts', are quite narrow and lack the depth expected for an academic task. Furthermore, the response falls short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which negatively impacts the overall development of the argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the word count to allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'In addition to this', and 'To recapitulate'. However, some of these transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural. The progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, but the lack of depth in the supporting sentences makes the flow feel somewhat disjointed at times. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a strong, unified focus would help elevate the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'fascinated', 'prominent', and 'recapitulate'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'a lots of individuals', 'a pieces of cake', and 'boardmen their horizon'. These errors occasionally distract the reader. To achieve a higher band score, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding informal idioms that do not fit the academic tone of the essay. Expanding your vocabulary to include more topic-specific terminology would also be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Was there any stunning lakes'), incorrect article usage ('a pieces of cake'), and awkward phrasing ('they also can find on internet'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the clarity of your writing. You should focus on proofreading for basic errors, particularly with pluralization, articles, and sentence construction, to improve the accuracy of your complex sentences.
