IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.

What are the reasons for this?

How can people research this?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

There are number of people who are becoming more curious to know about the past information of the residence of Apartment they holds or living in. There are some reasons behind this fact and also ways to do research to find the information.

The first reason why people are becoming more interested to know about the history of the building they live in is being frighten or find any skull or human body bones. Hypothetically, If they are going through different incidents day and night which are frightening them. this reason can create interest to know either there was any graveyard before establishing the building or not. The way to research about the information can be to ask the people nearby they must know if they will be living there or also can ask the company who provided engineers or labours who did work to build the house.

The second reason people want to know about the history of the building they are living in can be if they find any unique items like old Coins, Jars or pieces of Jewellery. The way to research about it they can get information from the experts or scientist by showing them the items which can anticipate the time of those items and might be provide them supportive information.

The third reason people want to know about the history of the building they are living in can be the old structure of the building.

For example

i would like to mention my own experience here as well. Once i bought a home and was living along with my family in it but with the passage of time the building structure started tilted and the walls were not supporting which made me curious and build interest to get information regarding the formation or history of the building when it was actually build through there i can get awareness about the time when it was build so i could renovate it that was the main reason which build interest in me to get to know about the history of my house.
