IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.

What are the reasons for this?

How can people research this?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

A very large number of people are becoming suspicious in the research of previous record of the house or society in which they are living. As humans are secretive and suspicious by nature and everyone desire to know everything about their colony, home or building in which they are surviving time with their families. In this essay, we will discuss about the reasons of this behaviour.

Sometimes, people spread unverified information related to historical house or building of their society. Some people afraid from such kind of rumors and decide to leave such suspicious places. On the other hand, when there are also some persons, which are brave and they oath to find out the history of this specific place. For example; my uncle shifted to new society of Lahore with their family when they listen suspicious news about their 70 years old house. Some naughty people used to say that their old house is haunted and large number of ghost stories are related to their old building.

A mature person don't care of this kind false information. But everyone should must be aware from the history of the house in which they are living or planning to shift with their families in future. People can do that by making sure that the documentary of their shop or house is fully legal or not. For example; a large percentage of people in Karachi migrate from to highly developed and educated areas because street crimes in areas like Gulberg and Chowrangi are very common and sometimes it becomes life threatening for residents.

People should not believe false information without investigation. Everyone should get information about their place from the old and mature people living in society because they are fully aware about the history of their colony, building or society etc. If anyone find something odd or dangerous about their house or building, they should must involve police for further investigation and help.
