Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the interest in house history and methods for research. The ideas are relevant, such as the influence of social media and the desire for ancestral connection. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the point about 'hidden treasures' is mentioned but not expanded upon, and the research methods could be more detailed. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate on the implications of these research methods. The position is clear, but the overall depth of the argument is limited, keeping it within the Band 6 range.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'Additionally', and 'In conclusion', which help the flow of ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally slightly awkward, such as 'someone old' or 'such individuals'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the connection between sentences could be smoother to achieve a more natural flow. Overall, the structure is clear and easy to follow, meeting the requirements for Band 6.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'reside', 'ancestors', and 'convenience'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'rely information' (should be 'relay') and 'how it was build' (should be 'built'). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited, and the phrasing is occasionally repetitive. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'Increasing number of the population' (missing an article), 'not only interesting and also can be valuable' (incorrect correlative conjunction structure), and 'As almost data' (should be 'As almost all data'). These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures while ensuring accuracy in subject-verb agreement and article usage will help improve this score.
