In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.
What are the reasons for this?

Student answer (Band 6.5)
In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the background of the house or building they live in. There can be multiple reasons for this and how people can actually research about the background of their house or building, I will be discussing that in details below.
The prime reasons for people to search about their house's/building's history are security purpose, checking haunting history and a common human nature to know about things around them. Mainly most people wherever they shift to live, they are very concerned with the security of that place as everyone wants to live in a secure place. So, for ensuring the house or building they live in is secure from any potential threats like robbery etc, they show interests in knowing the history. People also want to know their place's history to check if any haunting element is attached with their place or not. Maybe not everyone but most people are becoming interested in this as due to the experienced haunting experiences around the world. Third reason is the common human nature which forces people to dig out the history of the place they live in as they want to know about everything around them.
People can research in the history of the place they live in by investigating the previous residents who lived their, they can also investigate the owners directly or the neighbours. If the people are shifting to a new place they are more likely to thoroughly investigate the previous residents about the history of that place and what is the reason they are leaving that place. The can also ask from the owners about the background of that place and also they can visit the neighbours and ask from them about the information they require regarding the place they live in or want to live in. I remember once we were to shift to a new house in some area nearby our previous living place, we investigated thoroughly with the previous residents, owners and the neighbours of that house in order to confirm our decision to live their.
In conclusion, people really want to know about the history of the place they live in due to security and other reasons and they can know that by multiple people like owners, neighbours etc.
