Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, the history of the house or building gained more attention of the community or surrounding communities of the house or building. There are some notable references of these kind of field work and it will be discussed further in this essay.

To begin with, there are certain reasons for these changes in communities like the treasure hunt and many more. At the present, some younger video graphers are making content about treasure they found in basement of the house they are living or in backyard during some maintenance.

Another reason of the interest is that some people hear unusual noises of insects. Those actions are more than enough to encourage someone to dig deeper into the circumstances. To illustrate, in rainy season some species are finding their way out of the ground and sometimes it ends up in house or building. This foundation will encourage people to dig deeper into their base because they are worried about the poisonous insects and animals like snakes, scorpios and more so they can remove it from their grounds and maintain a stress free life style.

To find out about the history of their territory, they can visit a municipality offices where they have a separate department which called history of building.

They can ask for the map or template for their land.

In conclusion, there are certain reasons behind the encouragement of gaining historical knowledge about the house or building like treasure hidden underground and some underground living animals or insects. The material of the research is provided by the government facilities.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development of ideas is weak and often illogical. The reasons provided—treasure hunting and pest control—are not typical motivations for researching building history. The explanation regarding 'unusual noises of insects' and 'snakes' is tangential and does not directly relate to the historical significance of a property. While the second part of the prompt is addressed by mentioning municipality offices, the explanation is brief and lacks depth. To improve, you should focus on more relevant reasons, such as architectural interest, genealogical research, or property value, and provide more detailed, logical explanations for your points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive feature. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. Transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical or confusing, such as the sudden shift from 'treasure hunting' to 'insects'. The use of cohesive devices is limited and occasionally inaccurate, which affects the flow of the argument. For example, the phrase 'This foundation will encourage people' is used incorrectly to refer to the previous paragraph's content. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally basic and sometimes imprecise. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'notable references of these kind of field work' and 'municipality offices where they have a separate department which called history of building'. Some word choices are inappropriate for an academic context, such as 'dig deeper into their base'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use a wider range of vocabulary, including more precise collocations and academic terminology related to historical research and property management, while paying closer attention to word forms and sentence-level accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'department which called'), article usage (e.g., 'in rainy season'), and pluralisation (e.g., 'scorpios' instead of 'scorpions'). While these errors do not always prevent the reader from understanding the general meaning, they are frequent enough to cause some distraction. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the correct use of articles, prepositions, and verb tenses, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
