Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 192 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address the two parts of the prompt—reasons for interest in building history and methods of research—the ideas are underdeveloped, fragmented, and often unclear. The connection between the 'reasons' (such as the mention of 'topper room' or 'energy') and the topic of historical buildings is tenuous and lacks logical support. The response does not provide a clear position or coherent arguments, resulting in a partial and confusing treatment of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay lacks a clear logical progression. Paragraphs are poorly structured, and the relationship between ideas is often difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the abrupt transition in the second paragraph regarding 'NEET preparation'. The conclusion does not effectively summarize the main points but rather introduces new, vague ideas. The lack of clear topic sentences and logical flow makes the text difficult to read, and the referencing is frequently unclear, which hinders the overall coherence of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There are numerous word-choice errors, such as 'pregestious' (likely meaning prestigious), 'energic' (energetic), and 'higher' (hire). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the repetition of basic words like 'people', 'living', and 'house' demonstrates a lack of lexical variety. Many phrases are non-idiomatic or grammatically incorrect, making it difficult for the reader to grasp the intended meaning of the arguments presented.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that distort meaning. There is a lack of control over basic sentence structures, with many fragments and run-on sentences. Examples include 'Most of the countries, more or more becoming interested' and 'He belives a topper room always select for living'. Subject-verb agreement is consistently problematic, and there is a lack of complex sentence structures. Punctuation is also inconsistent, further complicating the readability of the text. The high frequency of errors across both simple and attempted complex structures significantly impacts the clarity of the writing.
