Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for interest in historical buildings and methods for researching them. However, the development is inconsistent. While the reasons (tourism, education) are relevant, the explanation is somewhat superficial and repetitive. The section on research methods is less clear; the suggestion to use 'public sector approved scientists' or 'highly raised churches' lacks logical depth and practical relevance to the prompt. The essay maintains a position, but the arguments are not fully extended or supported with clear, logical examples. To improve, ensure each point is explained with a clear link to the prompt rather than listing general ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the content within these sections does not always follow a logical progression. There are instances where referencing is unclear, such as 'a route map for the move is individuals cup of tea,' which disrupts the flow of ideas. Paragraphing is present, but the internal logic within paragraphs needs to be strengthened to ensure a smoother transition between sentences.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect collocations, such as 'digging a historical findings' instead of 'investigating historical sites' and 'earlier constrictions' instead of 'ancient structures.' The repetition of 'now a days' (used four times) limits the lexical variety. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of word-choice errors prevent a higher score. Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on correct collocations will be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('it may helps'), incorrect verb tenses ('will brings'), and awkward sentence construction ('The Great Wall of China is remains it in the form of tourism'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable throughout the text. Focusing on basic sentence structure and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the quality of your writing.
