Student answer (Band 5.0)
In many countries , more people wanted to know about the history of their houses or societies where they are living from many years. This is because individuals are staying there since their childhood and they can research more about their hometown or city from the internet or their grandparents.
Overall, this essay discusses the significant mystery of everyone's live because all wanted to know about their history.
The people were born in their houses as a child, after few years they became toddlers. At the age of 2 to 3 years a toddler is unable to understand what is happening, but they grew their so they are more intrigued to know the context behind their home. For instance they wanted to know how their homes look before renovation and for what purpose they need to re-construct it.
People can research more about the history of their hometown city or society, by looking for them on many resources for example on internet they just have to type the city name or area of house, they can easily see how it looks in the past and present today, and in more detail they get their desired information. Besides this there is another way like they talk to their grandparents to know more about the significant history of past.
To conclude, people in today's era are more interested in the past because of some cultural importance which is still known today. No matter how many technologies or science will come history has its own vibe.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development is quite limited. While you identify reasons (childhood connection, curiosity) and methods (internet, grandparents), the explanation is superficial. For example, the paragraph describing a toddler's development is largely irrelevant to the core task of researching building history. The ideas lack depth and specific examples, making the response feel repetitive. To improve, you should focus on more mature reasons, such as architectural preservation, historical significance, or property value, and provide more detailed, logical steps for research beyond just 'typing on the internet'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt, and the second paragraph contains irrelevant information about child development that disrupts the flow. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'For instance' and 'Besides this', but they are sometimes used mechanically or to connect ideas that are not fully developed. The conclusion is brief and does not effectively summarise the main points discussed in the body paragraphs. Improving the logical link between sentences would significantly enhance the clarity of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'know', 'history', and 'houses'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'significant mystery of everyone's live' and 'they grew their', which hinder the precision of your writing. While the meaning is generally clear, the range is not sufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to history, architecture, and research methods, and focus on using words in their correct grammatical context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are frequent issues with verb tense consistency (e.g., 'more people wanted to know' instead of 'want to know'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure (e.g., 'they grew their so they are more intrigued'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often grammatically flawed. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence structures and ensuring consistent tense usage before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
