Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for interest in building history and methods for research. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention curiosity and historical significance, the explanations are repetitive and lack depth. For example, the point about 'new inventions' is unclear and not fully explained. The research methods are listed, such as 'google' and 'local authorities', but they are not elaborated upon with specific examples or logical progression. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single clear idea, supported by a detailed explanation or a concrete example to demonstrate your point more effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow between sentences is often disjointed. You use some cohesive devices like 'On the other hand' and 'In conclusion', but these are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. For instance, 'On the other hand' is used to introduce research methods, which does not represent a contrast to the previous paragraph. Additionally, referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the sentence 'Who lived the house previous days it also be great concern to every people.' Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, which restricts your ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'this matters' instead of 'these matters', 'highly reputation' instead of 'high reputation', and 'what is occures' instead of 'what occurred'. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use more sophisticated or academic terms accurately. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to history, architecture, and research processes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('Many people has', 'Local authorities is'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper syntax, such as 'A building is not house it also bears a highly reputation.' You rely primarily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions and articles before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
