Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the interest in building history and methods for research. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The explanation regarding curiosity and cultural connection is clear, but the example of the French villager is slightly disjointed and lacks depth. The second body paragraph lists methods like 'municipality records' and 'social networks' but fails to explain how these are effectively used. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed explanations and ensure that your examples directly support your main points rather than just mentioning them in passing.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the phrase 'The one of the method' is grammatically incorrect and disrupts the flow. Additionally, the transition between ideas within paragraphs could be smoother; sentences often feel like a list of points rather than a cohesive argument. While the progression of ideas is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated linking words and occasional awkward phrasing limits the score in this criterion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward word choice, such as 'resident place history' instead of 'the history of their residence' and 'economical benefit' instead of 'economic benefit'. Spelling errors, such as 'reaserch', 'municipilaty', and 'disocvered', are noticeable. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the limited range of vocabulary and the frequency of errors in word formation and spelling prevent a higher score. Focusing on collocations and accurate word forms will help improve this.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'one of the main reason is' (subject-verb agreement), 'one's their house was belong to' (incorrect passive voice), and 'he visited local municipilaty to found his land records' (incorrect verb form). While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often marred by errors in tense or structure. To improve, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb tenses, and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
