Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development is weak and repetitive. While you identify reasons (interest in engineering/materials) and methods (internet research), the ideas are not fully extended. The explanation regarding why people are interested in history is vague, focusing more on general construction rather than the historical significance of buildings. The response lacks specific examples or a clear, logical progression of ideas. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct point with clear supporting evidence rather than repeating general statements about technology.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is limited. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'In different applications' and 'In internet'. The transition between the reasons for interest and the methods of research is abrupt. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one to create a smoother narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas. You frequently use basic terms like 'things', 'make', and 'use'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'material and infrastructure use of the building' and 'pervious years'. The range is insufficient to demonstrate precision or flexibility. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to history, architecture, and digital research, and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'One of the primary reason is'), tense usage (e.g., 'there was no technology will be used'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation. The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for common errors like missing articles and incorrect verb forms is essential.
