Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay addresses both parts of the prompt—reasons and research methods—the ideas are underdeveloped and lack depth. For instance, the discussion on research methods is vague, mentioning only 'asking someone' or 'searching information from elders,' without exploring more formal or academic avenues like public archives or property records. The conclusion is also extremely brief and fails to summarize the main points effectively. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between ideas is often mechanical or abrupt, such as the shift from architecture to the popularity of a building. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often repetitive or incorrectly applied, such as the frequent use of 'This is mainly because' and 'In particular.' The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of arguments. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of awkward word choices and inaccuracies, such as 'curisosity towards the history' and 'it finds interesting.' You rely on basic vocabulary, and there is little evidence of less common lexical items or precise collocations. To achieve a higher band score, you should focus on expanding your range of vocabulary by learning synonyms and practicing how to use words in their correct context. Spelling errors, such as 'reaseach,' also detract from the overall quality of the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'they starts thinking' and 'they finds interesting.' Sentence structures are largely simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty or punctuated incorrectly. For example, the sentence 'If building or houses are old or it follows ancient architecture, It finds interesting to know about its past or history' is grammatically fragmented and unclear. You need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
