Student answer (Band 5.0)

This is common in every country because now a people interested in history and finding interest in old buildings maybe because they look unique or different and interested. Some people want to explore it because they want to see the things which happened in past or how they look.

Firstly, it happened because when people study about past and know the different places, so they want to explore it. Furthermore, past buildings have many unique and creative things so that's why people mostly want to visit it.

Secondly, the thing is people where live may a beautiful country, but they always want to explore something new. In addition to it, those people like to know about history and want to explore historical places so probably they are interested in it even their own hometown or country is beautiful.

Lastly, I think it's a good thing because it helps to get a time from our busy routines and we can take a short break and see some historical buildings, so it relaxes our stress and get a time to think different things about past.

To wrap up arguments, if a person interested in learning past things and finding out the interest in to explore different historic places so, I think it a really good habit and it takes a time to think creative and think about those persons who made it and get the idea of these things. So, instead of stopping these things, we should motivate those persons because not everyone has this kind of ability.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, but the development is quite limited. While you identify reasons (historical interest, uniqueness) and touch upon research, the ideas are repetitive and lack specific examples or depth. For instance, you mention 'exploring' but do not explain how one actually researches a building (e.g., archives, local libraries, or public records). The arguments remain at a superficial level, and the conclusion does not fully synthesize the points made. To improve, you should provide concrete examples and expand on the 'how' aspect with more practical detail.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'To wrap up', they are sometimes used mechanically or incorrectly, such as in the sentence 'the thing is people where live may a beautiful country'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to follow the logical flow of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple words like 'things', 'people', and 'explore'. There is little evidence of less common lexical items or an awareness of collocation. For example, 'get a time' is an unnatural collocation, and 'think different things' is vague. To reach a higher band, you need to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to history, architecture, and research methods. Focus on using more academic synonyms and avoiding overly informal or imprecise phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'a people interested'), missing articles, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'people where live may a beautiful country'). You rely almost exclusively on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tenses, and practicing the use of articles and prepositions. Reducing the frequency of these errors is essential for a higher score.
