Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the interest in building history and methods for research. However, the development is somewhat superficial. While you mention identity and forefathers, the connection to the 'history of the house' specifically is a bit weak, as the focus shifts toward general ancestry. The research methods are relevant, but the explanation of how to use these methods could be more detailed. To improve, ensure that your examples are more specific and directly linked to the architectural or historical context of a building, rather than just general family history.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Moving further', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Nextly' (which is not standard English) and 'To elaborate it'. The flow between sentences is generally logical, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'contemporary', 'integral', and 'amenities'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'get more knowledge about their ancestors' (better: 'gain insights into their heritage') and 'this problem can be tackle' (should be 'tackled'). The use of 'google and chrome applications' is slightly informal for an academic essay. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('people who lives', 'internet also help') and tense inconsistencies ('how they live' instead of 'how they lived'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to limit the score. To improve, pay closer attention to verb forms and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
