Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is argued by the fact that many people are attracted towards their history and are investigating about their houses or buildings. This essay is going to discuss about the main reasons for it and how can people research.
Firstly, people are interested in the history of the houses as they wants to know about their cultures and tradition. They believe that by seeking information about the places that they live in can provide them with sufficient knowledge about their ancient times. For instance, if I want to know about my traditions such as what people from previous times used to use to build their houses and what kind of things they used to do in their free times. Thus, it is more easier to know about our history from the buildings from ancient times.
In this 21st century, there are many technologies that people can use to find out about their history such as internet, mobile phones, laptops etc. An individual can look up internet to seek out the important information related to their history without any difficulties. For example, we can provide the photos of our houses and ask the technological tools like AI to give the information we want tom know. Therefore, we can easily use AI tools to research about the things which we need instead of doing hard work.
To conclude, many people wants to know about their cultural heritages as well as help to provide that information to many parts of the world where citizens of different countries cam also find out more about our countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for interest in historical buildings and methods for research. However, the development is limited. The reasons provided are somewhat repetitive, focusing primarily on 'culture and tradition' without exploring other potential factors like architectural appreciation or property value. The research methods section relies heavily on general mentions of technology and AI, lacking specific, concrete examples of how one might actually conduct such research (e.g., visiting local archives, consulting land registries, or interviewing long-term residents). The conclusion is slightly off-topic, as it shifts to the global sharing of information rather than summarizing the main points of the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. While cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'To conclude' are used, they are occasionally mechanical. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the link between researching one's own house and providing information to other parts of the world is not logically developed. The transition between the reasons for interest and the research methods is abrupt, and the overall flow could be improved by using more sophisticated linking words to connect the sentences within paragraphs.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'history', 'houses', and 'information'. Some word choices are slightly unnatural, such as 'investigating about their houses' (investigating their houses) and 'technological tools' (digital tools). The student attempts to use some topic-related vocabulary, but it remains at a fairly basic level. To improve, the student should focus on using more precise collocations and a wider variety of synonyms to avoid repetitive phrasing and to express ideas with greater nuance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('people wants', 'houses as they wants'), incorrect preposition usage ('investigating about', 'look up internet'), and awkward phrasing ('It is argued by the fact that'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. The student should focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions to improve accuracy.
