Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the interest in building history and suggesting research methods. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided, such as curiosity about construction methods and technology, are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. The research methods are listed in a simple, bullet-point style rather than being fully explained or integrated into a cohesive argument. To improve, you should expand on your points with specific examples or logical explanations rather than just listing them. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main points discussed in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While there are some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion', they are often used mechanically or incorrectly. The transition 'On the second hand' is non-standard and awkward. The flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by grammatical errors and fragmented ideas. The paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the readability and coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often inaccurate. There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'ita' (it is), 'curiosty', 'residentail', 'bulidings', 'enginiers', 'accelators', and 'conculsion'. These errors, combined with awkward word choices like 'In examplary context' and 'get knowledged', hinder the clarity of the message. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary related to construction and research, the frequent errors in spelling and collocation suggest a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of vocabulary to express ideas with precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('everything is happen'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Sentence structures are generally simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'why theses buliding are architected in that way' (which is a fragment rather than a full sentence). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and incorrect capitalization. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your verb forms and word order are accurate before attempting more complex structures.
