Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the interest in historical buildings and suggesting research methods. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the explanation regarding why people are interested in historical buildings is a bit repetitive, focusing heavily on curiosity and tourism. The second body paragraph lists sources like the internet and neighbors but lacks depth in explaining how these sources are effectively utilized. To reach a higher band, you should provide more detailed examples and explore the underlying motivations—such as cultural preservation or investment value—more thoroughly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'To begin with,' 'In addition to this,' and 'Moving further,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally slightly awkward, such as in the sentence 'the most suitable ways of getting sufficient amount of information are the internet.' Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the flow of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'accommodation,' 'curiosity,' and 'plethora.' However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation. For instance, 'constructed as buildings' is an unnatural phrasing, and 'the internet' is singular, so it should be paired with 'is' rather than 'are.' There is also some repetition of basic words like 'building' and 'history.' To improve, try to incorporate more precise synonyms and collocations related to historical research and architecture to show greater flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors that persist throughout the text. Examples include 'residence to the number of families' (should be 'a residence for a number of families'), 'in the Rajasthan' (should be 'in Rajasthan'), and 'from several years' (should be 'for several years'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of articles, prepositions, and subject-verb agreement.
