Student answer (Band 5.0)
In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out the history of thier house or building in which they live. Everyone is intersting in to find the history about their houses. I also have interset in to find out the history or background of my house. I will support my answer with following reasons.
first of all more and more people are becoming interested in finding out the history of the house or building they live in. The reason is that they want to know about the house, they want to know the background of it like how their ancestors build this house and how they come here. Im also very interesting in it. I heard from my father that the land on which our house is situated was a forest before. then our ancestors came here and cut thr trees and finish the forest and make the land empty then they began to live here. Thus time passes and and more more people came here and began to live here.
The peole can research this by asking about history of their house building to their fathers or grandfathers. I also research this anf for this i ask to my grandfather and he told me the whole story. He told me that we live here for over 100 years and we are living here since our birth. I got surprised when I heard it because how can a man live in a place for over 100 years. In my opinion, i will get bored by living in a house for over 100 years.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for interest in house history and methods of research. However, the development is limited and repetitive. The ideas are somewhat simplistic, focusing heavily on personal anecdotes rather than broader societal reasons. The explanation of how to research is restricted to asking family members, ignoring other common methods like public records, archives, or online databases. The position is clear, but the lack of depth and the reliance on personal narrative rather than analytical discussion prevents a higher score. To improve, you should expand your ideas with more varied examples and explore the topic from a more objective, academic perspective.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'and' and 'more and more'. There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas logically. For example, the transition between the reasons and the research methods is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the paragraphing does not effectively separate distinct points. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that flows logically into the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits the ability to convey complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and form, such as 'intersting in to find' instead of 'interested in finding' and 'finish the forest' instead of 'cleared the forest'. The range is insufficient for a higher band, as the same phrases are used repeatedly throughout the text. To improve, you should work on learning collocations and synonyms to avoid repetition. Focus on using more precise vocabulary related to history, architecture, and research methods rather than relying on simple, everyday language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with verb tenses ('ancestors build this house'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are simple or contain run-on structures joined by 'and'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and punctuation is often misused or missing. For example, 'Im also very interesting in it' contains both a spelling error and an incorrect adjective form. To improve, you need to focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct verb tense usage, and practicing the formation of complex sentences using subordinating conjunctions.
