Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for interest in house history and methods for research. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided—emotional connection and property value—are mentioned but not fully explored or supported with specific examples. The research methods are described in vague terms like 'digital appliances' and 'government site,' which lack depth. The essay tends to repeat the same points in the introduction, body, and conclusion rather than extending them. To improve, you should provide concrete examples, such as visiting local archives, consulting land registries, or interviewing long-term neighbors, to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices. While you use transition words like 'Moreover' and 'Further more,' they are often used mechanically. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'this two are the major reason,' where the connection to previous ideas is weak. The conclusion does not synthesize the information effectively but rather restates the previous points in a fragmented way. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'get to know,' 'knowledge,' and 'things.' There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'digital appliances' (which is incorrect in this context; 'digital archives' or 'online databases' would be more appropriate) and 'articulate more' (which should be 'elaborated upon'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to history, property, and research, and avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('they has,' 'government know'), article usage ('the history of the past'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or lack proper punctuation, such as 'As a result there are many more reason but this two are the major reason.' The range of structures is limited, relying mostly on simple sentences. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
