Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often debated that young generation is more captivated to know the history to where they belong or living. This has, in turn pushed up them to collect information about the house history.

The main reasons for this the structure of house can fascinate them, they could find an ancient things that make them suspicious to know from where they actually belong. The masterpiece design of any building can motivate someone to know how this building came into existence. This trend rooted in young adults. If i relate it to my personal experience, the house i'm living in always put me in thought of who designed it? What was the motivation behind building such a fabulous place because my house has an automate gates, fans, showers and many other equipments that shifted my mind to think how modern technology is now embedding in houses and it reflects a broader societal shift. The design is so clean that if ever i'll build my own house this house will be my motivation.

People can research simply on these topics by first knowing how is house owner,if the house owner is his blood relation he is lucky he can get whatever information he requires while, if house or building owner is not relative by searching the building on internet the owners state of mind could be find, meanwhile the contact of owner can also be looked to meet him by in-person.

I myself found the house designer where i lived by internet. The evidence points more strongly towards the research practice.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for the interest and methods of research. However, the development of ideas is limited. The reasons provided, such as 'masterpiece design' and 'modern technology', are somewhat superficial and lack depth. The explanation of research methods is also quite brief and lacks specific, practical detail. The response tends to over-generalise, and the connection between the 'young generation' and the interest in history is not fully explored or supported with convincing arguments. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and concrete examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical flow is often disjointed. The transition between the reasons for interest and the research methods is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused, such as 'This has, in turn pushed up them' and 'meanwhile the contact of owner'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, central topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is limited and sometimes inaccurate. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'captivated to know', 'suspicious to know', and 'automate gates'. These errors occasionally impede the clarity of your message. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the range is not sufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary rather than relying on basic or incorrectly used terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('young generation is', 'the structure of house can'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which affects readability. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, such as 'if ever i'll build my own house this house will be my motivation'. The punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing after commas. A greater focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for grammatical accuracy is essential.
