Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 171 words. This significant under-length severely limits the development of ideas. While the response attempts to address both parts of the prompt—reasons for interest and methods of research—the ideas are presented in a very superficial and fragmented manner. The examples provided, such as 'RED FORT', are not integrated into a coherent argument, and the explanation of research methods is underdeveloped. To improve, you must expand your points with detailed explanations and relevant examples to meet the length requirement and demonstrate a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into basic paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'Because' to start sentences, which creates a disjointed flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas is abrupt. To improve, you should use a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in addition') and ensure that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea that connects logically to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'house', 'buildings', and 'reasons'. There are several instances of awkward word choices and incorrect collocations, such as 'searching about ancient house history' and 'understand about ancient soil'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly. To achieve a higher band, you should focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms, and practice using more precise academic vocabulary to describe historical research and architectural interest.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with article usage ('the' is often missing), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure (e.g., 'They searching on who can make it'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There is a lack of complex sentence forms, which are necessary for higher band scores. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and the proper use of articles, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
