In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.
What are the reasons for this?
How can people research this?

Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, many people wanted to know more about their country history or culture.There are several reason many people in different countries which were interested to know the history of the house or building they live in.
The reason to get interested is people wanted to learn about old generations people, there culture and how they live. As by learning, people can get strong sense of relationships with others. It also gives idea about culture heritage of a families. Many home owner wanted to know how their properties look in past. The financial value of properties or homes before many years can help people to get valuation and if building has significant rich history or importance can increase value in the market.
People can get reseach their properties on the internet and can learn more about the building. Online database and digital newspaper can give information about the sites. People can also visit the sites of properties to get better idea about houses and also can visit the public library where they can find old maps and some pictures of the building. There might be some stories which was not available anywhere but by talking to the old people who knows about the building. Many people published artical about historical places can helps people on their research.
Overall, there are many reasons why people get interested to know about old houses and they can find informantion about it in numerous ways. And can find true value of properties in market and learn about the history.
