Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, mentioning reasons why people research their homes and methods for doing so, such as asking neighbors and looking at old maps. However, the development of ideas is severely limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on research methods lacks specific detail or clear explanation. Furthermore, the response fails to meet the minimum length requirement, containing only 206 words instead of the required 250 words. This significantly impacts task completion, as the ideas are under-developed and abruptly stated. Based on these limitations, the response aligns best with Band 4.0 descriptors for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay displays a very basic structural arrangement, but it lacks clear overall progression and logical paragraphing. Sentences and paragraphs are abruptly joined with weak transitions like "Many people are getting information..." and "More persons are research online...". Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, making it difficult to follow the flow of arguments. Paragraphing is poorly handled, as the body paragraphs run together various disparate points without clear topical focus. Referencing is also confusing at times, such as in the phrase "neighboors to there house". Overall, the organizational flaws place this text firmly at Band 4.0 for Coherence and Cohesion.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic, repetitive, and heavily restricted. The student frequently misuses words and suffers from severe spelling errors throughout the text, such as "amoung", "facinated", "buiding", "Eassy", "neighboors", "histroy", "governaments", and "conseed". There is a complete lack of less common lexical items utilized with accuracy, and the lexical range is barely adequate to communicate simple ideas. The constant spelling mistakes and inappropriate word choices strain the reader and obscure meaning in several places, which corresponds directly to the Band 4.0 descriptors for Lexical Resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mainly of simple structures and poorly constructed complex attempts that are frequently faulty. There is a total absence of error-free sentences, and grammar errors are dense throughout. Examples include "every people facinated in finding out regarding history", "in my opinion i totally agree with this assertion.Eassy i shall explain", and "Governament should take step to create the management of older home histroy getter." Punctuation and capitalization are also erratic, with run-on sentences and missing capitalization at the beginning of sentences. These frequent errors severely distort meaning and place the grammar at a Band 4.0 level.
