While it is possible to claim that more and more individuals of some countries are interested to finding the history of there houses and building they live in. In my opinion, I totally agree with this assertion. In this essay I shall explain my point of view by analyzing the argument in the various perspectives.
There are several reasons why history is essential for society; it has a lot of benefits, one of them is that people want to know about who lived in the house previously. Moreover, they may discover interesting stories or events connected with the building. Furthermore, old houses can have cultural or historical significance. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons why people research the history of their homes and suggesting methods for how they can research this, such as utilizing historical websites and online archives. However, the student struggles significantly with framing the core task accurately. The introduction misinterprets the prompt by framing the question as a debate and stating an unnecessary agreement with the assertion, rather than directly stating reasons and research methods. Furthermore, the ideas across the body paragraphs tend to overlap and repeat basic concepts regarding previous owners and architectural value without sufficient extension or concrete personal examples. Consequently, the development is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth, aligning closely with the Band 5 descriptor where ideas are limited and under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into four paragraphs, providing a basic structure. However, logical progression is frequently disrupted by confusing transitions and repetitive phrasing. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as the phrase 'At the last but not the least there is also concern about a house have belonged to previous generations', which impedes smooth reading. Referencing is also problematic, as pronouns like 'it' and 'they' often have ambiguous antecedents. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal organization of ideas within the paragraphs lacks clear logical sequencing, resulting in a disjointed flow that best exemplifies Band 5 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The lexical range is limited and repetitive, with frequent vocabulary errors that occasionally impede understanding. The student relies on basic words and makes noticeable errors in word choice and morphology, such as 'amoung' instead of 'among', 'concide' instead of 'conclude', and 'architecturals' instead of 'architectural'. Phrases like 'search from historical websites' demonstrate weak collocational control. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the general topic of building history, the persistent spelling errors and restricted range prevent the response from reaching a higher band score, making Band 5 an appropriate evaluation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences frequently result in serious grammatical errors. Basic subject-verb agreement rules are repeatedly violated, as seen in 'everyone have there on interest' and 'a house have belonged'. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also mishandled, producing run-on sentences and fragmented thoughts like 'While it is possible to claim that more and more individuals of some countries are interested to finding the history of there houses and building they live in. In my opinion, I totally agree...' Due to the high frequency of basic grammatical errors and poorly constructed complex sentences that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, a band score of 4.0 is warranted.
