IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.
What are the reasons for this?
How can people research this?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's rapidly changing world, every intellectual person is interested in the history of the house they live in; most of them find it interesting to know the history of their home. It may be because of their interest in the past or simply because they want to know who built it first and owned it, what characteristics he or she had, how long they owned that house, who brought that house, whether he or she was a literary person or in some way famous at that time.
Most of the people want to know what service that place served in the past in order to track the lives of people back then; it helps them to know how societies evolve over time. They can also get to know about the people in the past, for instance, their life choices and which facotors made them to make certain decisions in their lives. As we convinces that history influenced us in a positive way and helps us to make the right choices, this may be another major reason people are concerned about the history of their homes.
However, some have an interest in history because they find it attractive and they are just curious about that, so they put effeorts to know abot that. Geogle is their main source of information; they also search for journals of someone who belong their once so they can learn more about, books made on history of their area also help them.
Overall, we can say that apart from history interest people are curious about to get to know the past to connect in some way in the past.
