IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.
What are the reasons for this?
How can people research this?

Student answer (Band 5.5)
In some countries, an increasing number of people are interested in discovering the history of the house or buildings where they live. This essay will discuss the reasons for this growing interest and the different ways people can research the history of their homes.
At times, curiosity makes people want to know who lived there,when i was built, or whether anything interesting happened there and also why they left. For example some individuals are so spiriual that they would want to know every details of information that happened in that home or building for precautions.Another reason can be because of safety and value:they may want to know about the building materials,previous damage, renovations or whether the property has historical importance.
To research for informations about where they live can be done by asking neighbours or previous owners who once lived in that property,checking of official records by local government or municipal offices may have information about the construction and ownership.Searching online is another factor in research by checing for photographs,maps and also historical records can provide useful information.Example maps shows how an area of a place where someone lives far back to 10 years so that can necessarily help.Another example of neighbours are the main people who can say a lot about the old owners of the property that once lived there.
In conclusion,before a person buys a home or property an investigation about the place or the owners who once lived there.Also asking informations is important like the reason they are moving out or wanting to sell the property e.t.c so as to avoid any form of issue that may likely arise in the long run or future.
