Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, people have become more intersted in getting the information of things and places which are connected with their lives. In a few countries, alot of individuals are becoming more attaracted towards knowing the past of of their homes and apartments they live in.
The major reason behind the public willing to have past information about their residential area is to keep themselves safe from unintentional violation of law. Land disputes are being a common problem for various people, even for those having fully verified land ownership documents. At present, public is more aware about such issues and in order to keep themselves safe from such cases, more and more people are believing to know the past of the houses and buildings they live in.
The most effective way to fetch the information regarding the area and accomadation where a person is living, is by visiting the old age residents. They have spend a large porion of thier lives in that city and in this way no one could tell more accurate history of the building and apartment located in that specific area. Online resources are not that truthworthy due to the assumptions made by such historians visiting the site single time in their whole life. On the other side, AI had not become that advance to tell us about the past, using paintings and books as only sources.
In conclusion, knowing about the past of the houses and apartments is important to avoid facing any future illegal land releated case and the best way to fetch such information is by visiting the local and old residents.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons why people research the history of their homes and how they can conduct this research. The candidate presents relevant ideas, such as avoiding land disputes and legal violations as a motivation, and consulting older residents or local knowledge as a research method. However, the development of these ideas remains somewhat superficial and lacks supporting examples from personal experience or wider knowledge, which is a requirement of the prompt. For instance, the discussion on online resources and artificial intelligence is slightly tangential and underdeveloped. The position is generally clear throughout the essay. This performance aligns well with the Band 6 descriptor, where all parts are addressed, but some elements are under-developed or lack full extension.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs addressing separate parts of the prompt, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct topics, such as reasons versus methods. However, cohesion is occasionally faulty or mechanical. For example, transitional phrases like 'On the other side' are used clumsily, and referencing is sometimes imprecise, as seen with 'such cases' and 'such historians'. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the lack of smoother cohesive links and repetitive phrasing keep this criterion at a Band 6 level. The relationships between sentences within paragraphs could be tightened to achieve a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common lexical items such as 'unintentional violation', 'land disputes', and 'truthworthy' (intended as trustworthy). However, there are numerous spelling and word-choice errors throughout the text, including 'intersted', 'alot', 'attaracted', 'accomadation', 'porion', 'thier', and 'releated'. Some terms are used imprecisely or unidiomatically, such as 'visiting the old age residents' instead of 'elderly residents'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, their frequency prevents the essay from reaching a Band 7. The lexical range is minimally sufficient to convey the intended meaning, which fits the Band 6 descriptors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some variety in structure. For instance, introductory participial phrases ('In recent years, people have become...') and relative clauses are used. However, grammatical accuracy is inconsistent. There are several noticeable errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Land disputes are being a common problem', 'AI had not become that advance'), article omissions, and tense misuse ('They have spend a large porion'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but frequent minor grammatical inaccuracies cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the structures from achieving reliable error-free status. This profile is characteristic of Band 5.
