IELTS Writing Task 2 question
In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.
What are the reasons for this?
How can people research this?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is a considerable number of people who are interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in. There are many reasons for this behaviour and i will discuss the major reasons and also how individuals can do research for this.
Firstly, people are trying to find out about the history of house or apartment they want to live in. This is mainly because they want to get aware of any possession the apartment had previously. For example, if there is any ghost possession link with the home. Then will certainly do not choose that home to live. This is because those type of things can harm them in many ways and can disturb their normal living. Moreover, they might also interested in knowing the proper history of the house due to its disturbing surrounding. If there had been a negative relationship between the owner of the house and the previous inhabitants. It can also cause the problems for the new residents. So, the knowledge of the building history and background of the owner can give them favour. For example, if the owner of the house create problems for the residents in terms of rent. So, it might be a challenge for them. Consequently, house background and possession history as well as the owners behaviour can be major factors for the history investigation.
Although it could be difficult, investigation through neighbours and by previous inhabitants can be beneficial for new citizens.
