the major concern of people about building houses are just because of increasing rates of construction material as well as strenghth or stability of these materials. people wants to compare with past experiences and try to evaluate the value of houses as compared today. people want to learn about the changes that has been done from past and the reasons why this happen. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The student has failed to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as the text contains only 135 words. Consequently, the response is severely under-developed and can only partially address the task prompt. While the student attempts to identify reasons such as construction material costs and historical comparison, and briefly mentions research methods like studying material properties, these ideas are extremely fragmented and lack the necessary extension and support required for a complete answer. Furthermore, the interpretation of why people investigate house history diverges somewhat into modern commercial practices rather than architectural or genealogical heritage. As a result, this significant under-length and lack of development heavily impacts the overall task achievement score.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The overall organisation of the text is weak and disjointed. The response lacks standard paragraphing, presenting instead as a single block of text followed by fragmented bullet points and abrupt headings such as 'how can research?'. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, leading to a breakdown in logical progression. For instance, transitions between the reasons for researching buildings and the methodology of doing so are jarring. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as when the pronoun usage shifts ambiguously between plural subjects and singular relatives like 'Some from my family has done this because he was interested'. Overall, the arrangement of information does not form a coherent essay structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, heavily constrained by the short length of the response. The student relies on simple, everyday terms like 'building houses', 'history', and 'companies' without demonstrating a sufficiently wide range of vocabulary for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and phrasing, such as 'material activity', 'reach to result', and 'real material' instead of authentic or original materials. While some general terms are understood, the lexical limitation and frequent inaccuracies prevent the reader from encountering precise or sophisticated language use, keeping the performance firmly at a lower band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting primarily of simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex structures. There are numerous grammatical and mechanical errors throughout the text, including frequent capitalization issues (e.g., lowercase 'the' at the beginning), subject-verb agreement errors like 'people wants' and 'reason why this happen', and incorrect verb tenses such as 'changes that has been done from past'. Punctuation is also poorly managed, particularly in the fragmented bullet-point section. These frequent errors cause occasional difficulty for the reader and demonstrate a weak level of control over basic English sentence patterns.
