In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.
What are the reasons for this?
How can people research this?

Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays high number of individuals are becoming intersted in searching about the history of their own houses.This interest is driven by emotional financial reasons and people can find information through online and offline records.
There are two main reasons why people are interested in the history of their home.First, emotional connection and identity.House is not made to just a bricks and cement.A most famous poet or a teacher lives in their home in past.People feel proud on their own home and make a deep commection with their home. On the other word is financial value.A house with a documented history increase the market value. For instance in lahore a hundred year old havely inside a walled city can be sold in double price of the market value.Buyyer pay more money to the historical houses.
People can research their house past through various method. One of the most common is to use online resources.Many government have now digitized records such as People need donot vist any patwari office physically. People can check land information, maps and many other records online through PLRA website. This website is officially under the government not the handover a private person.As a result people can found record easily at home. Another effective method is to use local and traditional people.Internet cannot provide proper and complete information but local people provide deep information such as an elder person in a street says This house was flooded in 1992 and its was rebuilt in 1994.Hence people know about the information of their house.
In conclusion, most of the individual have interseted in to know the history of their homes because of emotional connection and financial value.People can check all the online records through PLERA website and talk to old people or neighboor.
