In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.

What are the reasons for this?

How can people research this?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is considered that in some nations, majority of people are now more engaging towards to get information about the past events of the place or home where they live in. This essay discusses the several underlying factors that why individuals are interested towards the house history such as safety purpose and people research it from public data and the internet.

The primary reason of this concern is that the individuals are willing to know about historical events like how that place looked, what type of persons lived there and how they survived in the past. In other words, there are some questions in individual's mind to take more information about the place where they live in or want to live there. Therefore, they judge or compare that place with collected knowledge. In addition, the second reason for this issue is basically in concern of person's safety. To explain it, individuals check the past residents of that building, to know the data and events of the place because sometimes there might be illegal activities happened in the previous time. Thus, the place will dangerous for future home owner.

There are significant practical way to research about the history of the building. The first and foremost technique is the internet, the internet make easy to search not only about the previous events but also the present circumstances, without any physical survey. It is the best and the easiest way to collect information about the house history. For instance, some websites on the internet such as Mango and CheckData help individuals to check the past data of any area. Moreover, some individuals prefer to get knowledge from the public database that who was lived there and for how long.

In conclusion, property holders are becoming interested in finding out the history of that property mainly because of the safety and security of family and some people are history enthusiast. They can research about the past circumstances of any place through the internet and the public databases.
