IELTS Writing Task 2 question

In some countries, more and more people are becoming interested in finding out about the history of the house or building they live in.

What are the reasons for this?

How can people research this?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

House is a place where we feel calm and joy. In some countries people are trying to dig out the history of the buildings in wich they live. There may be several reasons behind this, I will discuss it in detail how can people research this.

Firstly, there are multipe reasons of the people to search about the history of their houses. sometime a person may be history addicted and he has a craze of doing so. And many of the people who do so, are having a keen interest in the history, so they trying to get as much knowledge as they can about the buildings of their residence. sometime people may listen about some preciuos things that has a connection with their houses so they took that intiative. sometimes you hear about treasure of your ancestors and thats why some people are more willingly do that. Like I want to put a example about that, one of my friend is from subcontinent which is now two different countries named as India and Pakistan. When partition is broke out between these two counties, his family moved to Pakistan From India. so his forefathers buried all of their jewlery and other gold items under their house in India. so when this boy raise up he again go back to India and start gathering information about the partition and he collected enough history about their ancestors land and houses and he also successful in finding the exact house of thier grandparents. So he got the inherited treasure.

Now talk about how people can carry this kind of research. People should try to reach their grandparents to get exact information about the residence buildings. Other source is authentic history books or docuomentry to dig out information about houses, or you have to concern with government officials to get enough information about houses you are living in.

The lexical resource is limited and adequate only for basic communication. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'preciuos', 'partition', and 'ancestors', but these are accompanied by frequent spelling and word-choice errors, including 'wich', 'multipe', 'sometime', 'docuomentry', and 'concern' instead of 'consult'. There is noticeable repetition of words like 'history', 'houses', and 'information'. These lexical inaccuracies and misspellings occasionally cause minor strain for the reader, fitting the Band 5 descriptor where vocabulary is limited and noticeable errors occur, though meaning is still conveyed.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
